FAQ’s about out Training Courses, Facilities, Expert Trainers and what to expect with your learning here at MediaCity Training.


How does the training work?

Once you’ve booked your training and you arrive at our training venue you will be given a desk with a workstation on it for the duration of your training. Your trainer will then take you through a number exercises as described in each training course agenda. You will be able to see everything the trainer is doing as they do it, and you’ll be able to follow along as it happens. Asking any questions as they occur.

What do I get to take home after the course?

At the end of the course you will take away a 64gig Usb3 pen drive which will allow you to take all of the projects and related media you’ve worked on over the duration of the course. This will allow you to continue practising and tweaking the content you’ve worked after the course has finished. We think that being able to do this will allow you get the most from your time with us.

I use Mac - is it easy to use a PC? Do you offer Mac training?

We are unable to offer training on Macs as MediaCity Training recommends the use of PC’s for all video/audio production tasks. However if you do wish to bring a Mac laptop to the training we can make provisions for this.

Do you offer certifications?

At this current time whilst we can offer coaching on the various Adobe exams which are available we don’t offer this facility at our training centre.

I want to use my laptop - is that possible?

Yes this is possible however we will need some time for preparation in order to ensure you have all the necessary files on your laptop to follow the tutorials.

I'd like to train on multiple applications - do you offer a discount?

We do offer various incentives to book more than one course with us at a time so please get in touch to enquire.

What experience do your trainers have?

One of the unique thing about the trainers at MediaCity Training is we only use trainers who are currently working in their fields. This allows the training to be completely up to date with what’s happening in the production industry and ensures you get to learn the most efficient and up to date techniques. All of which are fully relevant to real world examples which our trainers will refer to. In addition as our trainers are all working industry professionals we can offer you insights into how to make your way into the production industry if that’s what you want. It certainly won’t do your career prospects any harm at all attending one of our courses.


How do I book?

In order to book yourself onto a course you need to:

1. Decide on a date and ensure there is a place available. ENQUIRE HERE.
2. Fill in the course booking form.
3. Make full payment at least 7 days prior to the course start date.

How can I pay?

If you are an individual / freelancer wishing to book a course and want to use a debit / credit card simply follow the standard booking procedure and you will receive an invoice with an email link contain which will allow you to safely & secure pay for your chosen training course.

If you are a business we will send you an invoice containing all of the details you will need to pay.

What if I need to change a booking date?

Changing a booked course date is possible but is subject to our terms and conditions and it may not always be possible to give you your chosen date due to a variety of factors, such as course numbers etc. We will always go out of our way to ensure we can get you booked onto the next available course however please understand this is not always possible.

How do I know the course is suitable for me?

If you read each course description carefully this should give you a clear idea as to which course is best suited to your needs.

What do I need to bring with me?

In most cases everything you will need for you training course is provided for you. You may wish to bring your own headphones if you have a specific set you like to use.
We supply tea, coffee, fruit and refreshments however we do not supply lunch. There are a large number of places you can buy your lunch from in MediaCity and if you wish to bring your own with you we have a fridge where you can keep it cool.

Is there parking available?

We are not able to offer on site parking at this time. Our location is opposite a large multi-storey car park however this will be an additional cost of you as the trainee. MediaCityUk is very well served with public transport links however so getting here should be pain free.

What happens if I need to cancel?

If you should need to cancel your training with us please refer to our terms & conditions which you will have accepted upon booking. Essentially its possible to cancel and receive a full refund within a set time limit. Beyond this time limit we are unable to offer a refund.

What happens if the course cannot go ahead? How do you go about refunds?

If for whatever reason we have to reschedule or cancel a training course which you are due to attend we will due to upmost to liaise with you in order that we can reschedule a suitable & convenient date. If this is not possible we will offer you a full refund as per our terms & conditions.

After the course

Is there a resource online I can follow up my training?

During the duration of your course the trainer will constantly refer to great training resources and online tutorials. In addition we offer email support to questions after the course has completed so you should be covered.
